Louisiana Health and Rehab Center, Inc. (LHRC) is a private non-profit provider agency founded June 13, 2000 to provide residential services to female recovering addicts and their dependent children. Since that time, the agency has grown in size and scope and presently successfully operate a variety of programs, both residential and community based. We continue to offer secure, wholesome, therapeutic living environments for women recovering from addiction and their children. Additionally, we provide Supervised Independent Living, Personal Care Attendant and Children’s Choice services to people who are developmentally disabled. We provide detoxification services to adults and Outpatient Substance Abuse counseling to children and adults. We also offer Teen Pregnancy Prevention Services for adolescents, as well as Planned Therapeutic Recreation for children with severe mental illness. Many of our program participants have become self-sufficient and are fully contributing taxpaying members of our society.

The founder and Executive Director of Louisiana Health and Rehab Center, Inc., Soundra Temple Johnson, recognize that the field of human service delivery is not static. As such, the agency endeavors to hold constant its goals while adapting to include the latest state-of-the-art-techniques for serving our diverse population. Louisiana Health and Rehab Center, Inc. is committed to growth consistent with the community needs and the state plan for services.

The Executive Director abilities are proven. She has successfully operated numerous group homes and community based programs servicing severe behavior disorders, abused and neglected, juvenile delinquent, developmentally disabled, severely mentally ill, chemically dependent, dually diagnosed children and adults throughout the state within the past 30 years as co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Harmony Center, Inc. and Executive Director of Louisiana Health and Rehab Center/Options, Inc.
